Ariel's Grotto

This show is permanently closed. This page is retained here for historical interest.

The fact that Ariel has no legs makes it difficult for her to show up for autograph sessions, so a permanent spot was created for her at the back of Fantasyland.

This meet-and-greet location closed in April 2010 to make room for the Fantasyland Forest makeover.

History and Trivia - Hide Section
  • At this location: The attraction is built on what was the edge of the closed 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea attraction. Until that ride's lagoon was paved over in early 2005 (the attraction closed in 1994), the lagoon served as an aquatic backdrop for meeting Ariel.
  • The Attraction's History: When the area first opened, there was a foam-paved play area with fountains as well as simply meeting Ariel. Though those items are still in place, they have not been used for several years.
