Toy Story Pizza Planet

Based on the arcade shown in Toy Story you might expect this location to be similar to a Chuck E. Cheese. It isn't nearly that, although there are some video games in the area. Large pizzas for the family are not available, just smaller personal pizzas.

This place was just wonderful. I really enjoyed it. We went inside after passing by a wonderful smell of fresh pizza outside. It was a bit hard to find the ordering counter, but when we did, the line was short and we were served quickly. I ordered the cheese pizza meal with a salad and cookie and my husband ordered the pepperoni pizza meal with a salad and rice crispy treat.
We sat upstairs overlooking the arcade area below. The food was excellent. Very fresh and tasty. The salad was very fresh and I loved the dressing. Portions are not very filling though.
While I finished eating, my husband and daughter went downstairs to play some of the arcade games and I couldn't get them out of there. It was really great. We enjoyed ourselves and will go back for sure!

We loved Pizza Planet. We ate supper there during the Festival of Lights. It was crowded inside and we didn't want to deal with the arcade so we sat outside. It is exactly what we expected. Fast food style pizza. I would be shocked if I didn't hear a constant loop of Randy Newman songs from the movie. My daughter is allergic to dairy, but the management was more than willing to accomodate her. The made her a special pizza with no cheese. The service was great. We use the dining plan, so price wasn't really an issue for us. Both my 6 year old and my then 2 year old loved it. I can't wait to go back. Maybe I'm being way too simple, but I thought it was great.

We ate here for the first time this trip because we had heard good things about Pizza Planet. First of all, the one and only thing on the menu is pizza -- no other options period. Secondly, the pizza is not good at all. Third, it is an expensive arcade. The kids did not want to eat (they wanted to play games) and they did not want to leave (they wanted to play games). The pizza is not cheap and when you add the price of playing the games, it becomes outrageous. We will select somewhere else to eat next time we are in MGM.

History and Trivia - Hide Section
  • At this location: This location used to be the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pizza Place. When the park opened Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were still very popular and since those characters loved pizza, the theme was obvious. The location was themed to look like their home in the sewers of New York (without being disgusting). The shine quickly faded from the franchise however, and when Toy Story came out it was quickly renamed Pizza Planet and given a rush retheming.
  • The Restaurant's History: When Pizza Planet opened it was only barely themed and people were disappointed to find that it looked nothing like the restaurant depicted in the movie. Over the years it has been touched up, but you still shouldn't go in with any expectations from the movie.
