Fountain View

As the name implies, this is a great spot to get a coffee or an ice cream and watch the water show at the fountain outside.

We love to start our day at Epcot with breakfast at the Fountainview Bakery. We've had several breakfasts there and have had the chocolate croissants (my husband's favorite), cheese danishes and a hot "pocket-style" breakfast sandwich with eggs, cheese and bacon (good but very filling).

The only reason it doesn't get 5 planets rating from us is because Boardwalk Bakery is just that much better! We usually alternate breakfast at one of the two for all our Epcot and MGM days.

We usually can't wait to get the parks, and the food court at the All Star Music resort was always crowded on our December trip, so we just bypassed the crowds, got to the park at opening, and then had a nice leisurely breakfast while we watched the fountain.

When we were at the Yacht Club in October, this was a quick, easy alternative to the little convenience breakfast area in the lobby - and a lot more atmospheric!

One rainy morning this really paid off for us: Fountainview connects to a display area behind the cafe area (if you don't go back out the front doors) we had spent a little time looking at a photo exhibit there, waiting for the rain to let up a bit, and out came more characters than we could count! Because it was raining they weren't outside as they normally would have been, so we had photos and lots of one one one time with Captain Hook & Mr. Smee, Dopey, Santa Goofy, a penguin from Mary Poppins and more. A great way end to our breakfast and start our day in the park!

History and Trivia - Hide Section
  • At this location: When Epcot opened, this building was the Communicore and this specific dining spot was Sunrise Terrace Restaurant, which opened a few weeks after the rest of the park. Sunrise Terrace closed with the rest of the Communicore in 1993 and when Innoventions was opened in mid-1994, the restaurant space was split between Pasta Piazza Ristorante and Fountainview Espresso. Pasta Piazza Ristorante closed in April 2001.
  • As this restaurant: The name has been tweaked over the years (Fountainview Espresso to Fountain View Espresso & Bakery to the current just Fountain View) and the menu changed from being more of a bakery to just ice cream and coffee. Breakfast was even served for a while.
