Miyuki

Miyuki performs the classic Japanese art of live candy making. Taking a hot ball of a corn syrup-based taffy, Miyuki uses her hands, scissors, and paint to craft all types of creatures. Each creation is given to the person who requested it from the audience. She makes half-dozen or so per session, but competition for getting one is high so you may need to wait through several shows, and she gives preference to children.

History and Trivia - Hide Section
  • The Attraction's History: Miyuki has been performing her candy-making craft at the Japan pavilion since at least 1997. This style of candy-making has a history in Japan at least 250 years old and Miyuki is the first female master of the trade, having served an apprenticeship under grandfather, one of the masters of the art.
