Holiday Time at Disneyland Tour

This seasonal tour takes the participant into the detail of the extensive Christmas decorations put up at Disneyland every year. Included are rides on Haunted Mansion Holiday and it's a small world Holiday.

This tour is seasonal, offered only during the park's Christmas season (which generally extends from early November through the first non-holiday weekend in January. The 2008 tour will be offered from November 21, 2008, through January 4, 2009.

  • Making reservations: Reservations for this tour can be made up to one month in advance by calling (714) 781-4400.
  • Price: $59 per person.
  • Discounts: Deluxe and Premium Annual Pass holders, Disney Visa cardholders, and members of AAA receive a 20% discount for tours before December.
  • Admission: Separate theme park admission is required.
  • Transportation: The entire tour is on foot. Participants must transport themselves to and from the park.
  • Rain Policy: Tours are generally held rain or shine.
  • Photography Policy: Photography is allowed without restriction as tour remains in generally accessible public areas at all times.
  • After the tour: Enjoy a Christmas dessert and priority seating for the Christmas parade. Participants also receive a special pin.
 
Time Commitment Information - Hide Section
  • Tour length: Approximately 2.5 hours.
  • Day and Time: The tour is offered once daily during Christmas season at Disneyland (early November through the first weekend of January). Start time is 10:00 a.m. Tours are limited to 20 participants.
  • Basic Itinerary: — Tour the holiday decorations of Disneyland learning the trivia, history, and cultures represented. The group will ride on it's a small world and Haunted Mansion Holiday to experience the seasonal decorating of those attractions.
Access Information - Hide Section
  • Access issues: Both rides visited during the tour are wheelchair and ECV accessible and the rest of the tour remains in generally accessible areas of the park so issue should be minimal.
  • Walking required: This tour is held entirely on foot and will require walking at least a couple miles.
Parenting Information - Hide Section
  • Age restrictions: There are no age restrictions for the tour but it will spend a fair portion of the time talking about specific decorations and bits of trivia and history which many children may find boring.
  • Other issues: The tour does ride Haunted Mansion Holiday which some young children find scary.

We hadn't planned on doing the Holiday magic tour but after having such a great time on the Walk in Walts footsteps tour we decided we would.
We booked at Guest services just outside the gate and we given an evening tour time. We met the tour guide just outside the Town hall where we all introduced ourselves and headed off. The guide explained about all the decorations, how other cultures celebrate Christmas and how the imagineers design the decorations. We walked through most of the park, with the guide pointing out so many decorations we just hadn't noticed before.In Main street we were treated to a selection of holiday fudge flavours.
Down near the FantasyFaire we were again treated to the most delicious hot chocolate and a large gingerbread man, the hot chocolate was even served in reuseable Mickey christmas travel mugs which we got to keep. Our tour climaxed in front row seats for the evening parade, we all sat together and sang and shouted 'Merry Christmas' to all the floats and passerbys. Before saying goodnight our guide handed each of us delightful Tinkerbell christmas pins. It was a lovely tour, which really put all of us into the Christmas spirit.
