to the City of Lights in Nickelodeons hilarious yet moving RUGRATS IN PARIS: THE
MOVIE, landing on video and DVD on March 27. Featuring a top-rated soundtrack and a
talented vocal cast that includes Susan Sarandon (Anywhere But Here), John Lithgow
(TVs "3rd Rock from the Sun") and Debbie Reynolds (Mother),
the critically acclaimed RUGRATS IN PARIS: THE MOVIE has topped more than $74
million at the box office. Distributed by Paramount Home Entertainment, RUGRATS IN
PARIS: THE MOVIE stars Tommy (E. G. Daily, The Rugrats Movie), Chuckie
(Christine Cavanaugh, Babe), Angelica (Cheryl Chase, Addams Family Values),
Lil, Phil (both voiced by Kath Soucie, TVs "The Weekenders") and Baby Dil
(Tara Charendoff, TVS "The Powerpuff Girls."
Based on the incredibly successful "Rugrats" series that
depicts life from a babys point of view, RUGRATS IN PARIS: THE MOVIE is an
amusing animated adventure with the Rugrats clan, as they head overseas on a terrific new
adventure. When Tommys dad, Stu Pickles (Jack Riley II, TVs "The
Rugrats"), gets called to the new EuroReptarland amusement park in Paris to work on
his Reptar invention, the whole Rugrats gang embarks on an exciting exploration, which
Chuckie hopes will lead him to a new mommy and a potential new wife for his dad Chas
(Michael Bell, The Stupids). While Stu works, the kids dive into the wold of
baguettes, chocolate, berets and Reptarland, and as they visit sites from the Eiffel Tower
to Notre Dame, the babies learn valuable new lessons in courage, loyalty, friendship and
love.
Featuring the voices of respected, award-winning actors such as
Sarandon, Lithgow and Reynolds, RUGRATS IN PARIS: THE MOVIE appeals not only to
young children but parents as well. Smart yet sinister, Coco LaBouche (Sarandon), has all
the makings of a classic Hollywood villain playing the evil amusement park manager who
tries to marry Chas for her own personal gain, while Jean-Claude (Lithgow) plays her
helpful yet sinister side-kick. Sarandons and Lithgows enthusiasm is enhanced
further by legendary actress Reynolds who plays Lulu Pickles, Tommys grandmother,
and is joined by other well-known voices, Casey Kasem as a D.J. and Tim Curry as a singing
sumo waiter. An all-star adventure, RUGRATS IN PARIS: THE MOVIE packs all the
fascination and wonder of traveling to a foreign land, into a hilarious and fun-filled
journey for the entire family.
The DVD of RUGRATS IN PARIS: THE MOVIE is presented in
widescreen format enhanced for 16:9 televisions. It features the smash hit Baha Men music
video "Who Let the Dogs Out"; a 17-minute documentary on the making of the film;
alternate endings featuring Coco and what happens to her after the film is over; a sound
effects showcase on the "Chuckie Chan" dream sequence; two interactive DVD-ROM
games and other bonus features. The DVDs audio tracks are presented in Dolby Digital
English 5.1 Surround and in French. The DVD is closed-captioned and sub-titled in English
for the deaf and hard of hearing.
RUGRATS IN PARIS: THE MOVIE is priced to own on VHS and DVD (no
S.R.P.) in the U.S. and Canada. The film is rated G in the U.S. by the Motion
Picture Association of America and in Canada. It has a running time of approximately 78
