Walt Disney World fireworks photos by Karl Buiter In honor of Independence Day, I am going to share with everyone what I have done on July 4th for the past two years. Both involve travels to Walt Disney World, even though both are entirely different experiences. You will learn a little bit more about me and how I like to tour Walt Disney World in a not-so traditional manner. July 4th, 1998 : The summer of 1998 brought an onslaught of fires throughout the state of Florida and I was basically at ground zero for the fires that affected the Flagler County area of Florida. Flagler County is located to the north of Daytona Beach (Volusia County) and to the south of St. Augustine (St. Johns County), all on the Atlantic coast of Florida. Interstate 95 is the main north-south Interstate traveling down the eastern part of Florida with Interstate 4 traveling east-west in the middle of the state, starting at Daytona Beach and traveling through Orlando on to the west coast of Florida. Click on the date above to read this report . Both these articles were first written for the USENET newsgroups: rec.arts.disney.parks and alt.disney.disneyworld . In newsgroup terminology, these would be considered "trip reports." Trip Reports are articles sharing about a visit and posted to the newsgroups so anyone interested can learn from other's experiences. You can find many trip reports in the Disney Trip Report Archive on this site. Everyone has different styles of writing their trip reports, some are extremely detailed (down to the cost of meals purchased) and others are more overviews, like mine. Some folks write trip reports for every trip they take. It is actually rare to get a trip report out of me. I think I have written three trip reports for my Walt Disney World visits and I think one trip report for my first Disneyland visit. Usually it takes an unusual event to occur during a visit to get a trip report out of me. |
