Father's Day at Disneyland: Dining Options
June 15, 2001
by Adrienne Vincent-Phoenix, staff writer
ONE | TWO
Yesterday we learned that the Disneyland Resort restaurants seem to have
overlooked Father's Day. But that doesn't mean you have to drag dad to McDonalds
- California Adventure and the Downtown Disney restaurants have come to
the rescue with a handful of menus and events for his big day.
All of the following restaurants (except for the one in California Adventure-the
Golden Vine Winery) are located within Downtown Disney District. After
brunch, you can treat dad to a few hours at ESPN Zone, or stop for a movie
at the new AMC theaters.
For more information on Downtown Disney, be sure to read this two-part
series. Part One / Part
Two
Golden Vine Winery - California Adventure
A meal at either the Vineyard Room or the Golden Vine Terrace makes for
an enjoyable afternoon or evening with dad. The winery is currently offering
complementary wine tastings each afternoon. For Father's Day, consider
taking dad for one of the multi-course fixed-price meals. Your dad's wine
pairings will be upgraded to include Mondavi Reserve wines, with the compliments
of the winery. This is a $35.00 upgrade, and is the restaurant's way of
giving your dad "the very best" for all he's done. (Keep in
mind admission to California Adventure is required.)

Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen - Sunday Jazz Brunch

Jazz Kitchen is repeating their popular Mother's Day Jazz Brunch. The
Brunch Specials menu includes a starter, entree, and dessert for one
price. Starters include: gumbo ya-ya, soup du jour, butter lettuce salad
and Hambeaux salad. For your entree, choose the eggs sardoux#000080
(poached eggs served with creamed spinach, artichoke hearts and hollandaise
sauce); lamb chops with#000080ise sauce, accompanied by herb roasted
veggies; seafood cakes and eggs (eggs benedict, with seafood cakes instead
of English muffins); tournedos of beef in black pepper sauce, served
with grits, green beans and crispy sweet potatoes; or a crawfish omelet.
For dessert, you'll choose between strawberry shortcake and traditional
bread pudding with whiskey anglaise. An a la carte menu, and children's
menu, is also available.
The Entertainment:
A strolling jazz trio will entertain your dad. A souvenir jacket, containing
Polaroid photos of your family, will be presented to each dad as a special
memento. If you visit in the evening, the house band will entertain
you, starting at 6:30. Be sure to stop back for beignets, served at
the adjacent Creole Cafe.
