|"Nightmare" Event Information - 8/22/01|
If you want to buy the hottest event ticket of the year, you need to set your alarm clock. Tickets for the October 3rd Nightmare Before Christmas Haunted Evening go on sale at 9 a.m. this Friday morning - Florida time. This means 6 a.m. for those of us on the left coast. With only 200 premium tickets available, your dialing fingers will need to be wide awake.
Somehow, though, I just don't hear too many Nightmare fans complaining. In their excitement to be in the same park with both Tim Burton and Danny Elfman, no one seems to mind the early hour. From the designs I have seen of the new Mansion decor and tidbits I've learned about the event, I wouldn't miss this for anything.
The invitations for the event went out this Monday morning, and should be arriving in mailboxes today. In case you are not on Disneyland's merchandise special events mailing list, MousePlanet has all the details for you. The Haunted Evening will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2001. There are two packages available for this event:
Nightmare Before Christmas Haunted Evening Sneak Preview Event
$85 per person / $65 Premium Annual Passholders
Nightmare Before Christmas Haunted Evening Event Spooktacular Offer
$200 per person, no discounts will apply, limited to 200 tickets
The Spooktacular Offer will include:
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. for all. The panel discussion will include Tim Burton, Danny Elfman, Steve Davison and other unconfirmed Ghoulish Special Guests. Just a note, the event invitation says that tickets go on sale Monday, August 24, 2001. That was a typo, so PLEASE don't wait until Monday to call. Tickets go on sale this Friday:
Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas Haunted Evening
Tickets will be available beginning Friday, August 24, 2001
To order, call Walt Disney Event Services at (866) 247-1203 beginning at 9 a.m. Eastern Standard Time
As with recent special events, the Random Selection Process (RSP) will be used for merchandise sales. The RSP process eliminates the need to stand in line to choose your merchandise at the event. After you buy your tickets, you will be sent a confirmation packet. This packet will include a list of all Limited Edition and logo merchandise available for the event, along with an RSP form. Just fill out the form, indicate which items you are interested in, and mail it back ASAP. The RSP computer system will randomly determine which guest can purchase the Limited Edition items. Requests for logo merchandise will be filled in the order they receive the forms.
When you arrive at the event, you will be given a list of those items you were chosen to buy. You then have the opportunity to examine the items, and you are not obligated to buy something if you find you don't care for it after all. IČve used RSP at three events now, and it lets you spend more time enjoying the event, and less time standing in line for merchandise.
Hotel packages are available for event guests. For package details, call the resort Group Sales office at 714-520-5005 between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Pacific time. As a special bonus, people who purchase an event hotel package will receive another commemorative gift.
Good luck, and see you there!
