| Lilo & Stitch at the El Capitan Theater (continued) | ||
Tickets to the Lilo & Stitch screenings at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood include an interactive experience next door. My opinion of the El Capitan Theater shows keeps improving with time. Downstairs, the craft room features a station to make leis with lessons on how to properly give leis to other people.
This room has many other interactive displays and crafts to keep children momentarily busy. Two rooms at the Hawaiian Beach Party feature collections of Elvis memorabilia including several jumpsuits, a car, a motorcycle, even a collection of cancelled checks from Elvis’s charitable contributions.
Other rooms host carnival-like games...
...and even a “Hang Ten Machine,” a surfing simulator. Hula dancers perform and teach lessons.
Throughout the Hawaiian Beach Party, there are kiosks for sending out e-postcards. These take your picture and invite you to enter e-mail addresses to send them to. The kiosks are clearly labeled that the Walt Disney company will not share the e-mail addresses with others, but that they will use them for promotional purposes.
Tickets at the El Capitan are $14 general admission adult, and $12 general admission children. For $23, VIP admission includes a Lilo & Stitch bucket of popcorn, a bottle of soda or water, and seating in the center sections of the theater.
If you’re planning to see the movie anyway and you are in Southern California, the drive and price are worth the trip, if the show you want to see is not already sold out.
Here's a tip, the first few rows of the center orchestra section have their view obstructed by the El Capitan theater stage, so avoid sitting there. Also, if a young child sits low in his/her seat, you can request a booster seat from a theater usher.
