Winter 2009 - MouseAdventure Holiday: Reindeer Games | Additional Information | Helpful Reminders | Event Rules
Pack your bags and grab your mouse ears, MouseAdventure is headed to Florida for our Inaugural Walt Disney World MouseAdventure event on SATURDAY, November 14th.
The day will begin before park opening with breakfast at the Odyssey Center in Epcot Theme Park. After breakfast and a brief event orientation, the game is on! This event features a mix of two of our popular formats. Teams first complete a series of classic MouseAdventure quests in Future World, and then embark on an Enchanted Race around World Showcase to reach the finish line.
Results will be announced at an in-park meet on Sunday, November 15th, and will be posted on MousePlanet.com later that week. Winning teams will receive a pre-determined prize package which will be shipped to the winners after the event.
Don't miss your chance to be one of the first MouseAdventurers to race around Epcot. Space is limited, so form your teams and get ready for registration to open on Friday, April 3rd at 8:00am PST.
Pricing for this event is $175 for a 2 player team + $30 for each additional player (up to a total of 4 players per team).
Your registration fee includes an early morning escort to Odyssey Center, breakfast for each member of your team, and a fantastic, fun-filled 6-hour game. Registration does not include park admission. (Only admission for Walt Disney World’s Epcot Theme Park will be required)
Registration Information:
Set your alarm clocks!
MouseAdventure registration does not include theme park admission. All registrations are final. Registration is strictly limited by the capacity of the event venue, and teams may not change divisions or add players after registration closes. Once we are fully registered, we cannot make special exceptions or extend registration. There is no waiting list for this event.
Your MouseAdventure team must consist of at least two players and no more than four players. Some people like having four brains on their team; some teams work better with just two or three players. It is up to you to decide whether you want 2, 3, or 4 people on your team, but there are often advantages for larger teams.
Be prepared
MouseAdventure events sell out very quickly, so you'll want to have your team's details before registration opens:

’Twas the month after Epcot, and all through the ’land,
The Padders were stirring, and they had a demand:
“We want an Adventure,” the West-coasters cried;
“All right then, we’ll do one,” the MA staff sighed.
December the 12th it shall be, we declare.
And we hope to see all you Adventurers there.
Holiday-themed? Well of course, ’tis the season;
(quite honestly, we have just wanted a reason).
The name’s “Reindeer Games” and that should be enough
to give you a hint that this won’t be too rough.
A smaller event we are doing this winter;
it’s all we could get to come out of the printer.
We’ll start right at ten at the Paradise Pier
and finish at six at Carnation, or near.
Scoring and prizes will come later on;
we expect rather less than a week ’til they’re done.
At D23 you can register early
(as long as our Internet link isn’t squirrely)
and Monday the 14th September is when
event registration will open again.
Price is per team, it’s just sixty-five bucks;
if you have extra money, buy snacks for the ducks.
You’ll need an admission to Disneyland Park,
so be sure to obtain it before you embark.
And the emcee exclaimed as the teams left their chairs,
“Good luck to all, and be careful out there!”

Parking:
Teams may park at the Paradise Pier Hotel parking lot for a reduced all-day rate of $10. Teams may also park in the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure and walk to the hotel. Be sure to leave enough time for this warm up stroll!
Wheelchair rentals:
We can no longer offer wheelchair rentals to MouseAdventure participants. If a member of your team will require the use of a wheelchair or ECV during the event, you have a few options:
Team T-Shirt and Team Mascot competitions:
All MouseAdventure teams are invited to participate in the fourth semi-annual Team T-Shirt and Team Mascot competitions.
Mascot competition: If you will be bringing a team mascot for the competition, you do not need to do anything before the event. Just bring your mascot to the mascot competition, and be prepared to show the other teams why your mascot is the best. As a reminder, Mascots must be inanimate objects, like stuffed animals. Mascots may not be live animals (including service animals), living creatures, or people (including children).
Team t-shirt competition: If your team plans to enter the team t-shirt competition, here is the information you'll need to participate:
If you are new to MouseAdventure, the following information is going to be very helpful. And be sure to review the Preparing for MouseAdventure section of the MouseAdventure page there are lots of good hints there.
If you've been here before, go ahead and peruse the suggestions below anyway there's important information in there, plus you never know what you've forgotten since the last game or what has changed since the last event.
What to wear:
As always, we suggest that you wear comfortable walking shoes, sun block and hats / visors. Watch the weather forecast, and pack layers if appropriate. Don't forget about our team t-shirt contest!
What NOT to wear:
Do keep in mind that Disney does not allow costumes in the park, and it is difficult to know where a line might be drawn. Keep this in mind when designing team uniforms, as well the environment we'll all be in, and stay age-appropriate. We reserve the right to refuse admission to teams or players with inappropriate or offensive outfits, costumes, t-shirts or accessories.
What to bring:
Our best teams all agree, clipboards are your friends. Some even bring one for each member of their team. Be sure to bring pens and/or pencils, and maybe some scrap paper. It's always a good idea to bring pens of differing colors, as well as highlighters and pencils with erasers.
We also suggest that you bring water and small snacks, so you don't need to stop during the event. You will NOT have time to stop for a meal during this event, and you are going to be hungry. You MUST prepare for this in advance of the game so you do not lose valuable time stopping for a corn dog. Trust us on this one.
Finally, be sure to be prepared with comfy shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, hats, sun block and sunglasses.
What to leave in your car or locker:
Electronic devices, calculators, GPS units, reference materials, trivia books, and other such aids. You won't be allowed to use them, and they get heavy if you have to haul them around all day! Players may carry cell phones with them so they can be reached in the event of an emergency, but teams will receive penalties, up to disqualification, if players are caught using cell phones or text messaging during the event.
Other considerations:
If you are participating with small children, be prepared to play just for fun, and leave the stress of competition behind. Non-registered friends, companions and children over 5 years old may not accompany your team during the game, even if they aren't helping.
Teams may not work together, and related teams should not be working on the same quest at the same time. If you have registered multiple teams of friends / family, please understand that your teams will be required to split up during the event. Consider holding your own mini-competition to see which team gets the best score!
Weather report:
Some MouseAdventure players believe that the day of any particular MouseAdventure will be the hottest day of that given month. Even so, be sure to check the weather forecast so you know what to expect on game day. MouseAdventure will go on rain or shine, however rain may require us to change or cancel portions of the event. Unfortunately, there is very little we can do about this, so keep your fingers crossed that the mythical "Magic of MouseAdventure" works to keep skies clear.
These rules cover the basics of MouseAdventure additional rules may be given to teams before or on the day of the event. Please study these instructions to avoid confusion, point penalties, or even disqualification.
These rules apply to all teams participating in MouseAdventure, regardless of division, unless otherwise indicated below. Unidentified crew members are monitoring for violations and although their decisions may be subjective or susceptible to misunderstanding, there is no appeal.
If during the event you need to do something that may look like you are violating one of these rules, consider returning to MouseAdventure Central in either park and inform the staff members there before you do it.
Prohibited behaviors
A special note about cameras: We understand that some teams like to take photos of themselves during the event, and teams ask us every year why we prohibit digital cameras and camcorders. Unfortunately such devices can be used to cheat during MouseAdventure, and we therefore prohibited their use during most events.
If your team would like to carry a camera during the event, we recommend that you bring a disposable film camera, ideally a model that clearly looks like a disposable camera from a distance. MouseAdventure crew members are stationed throughout the park(s) during these events, and they aren't going to chase after you to inspect your camera if they spot your team using one during the event. Be especially careful to avoid any cameras that have a playback feature or screen.
