PRESS RELEASE - May 31, 2001
DISNEY'S CALIFORNIA ADVENTUREú INTRODUCES A NEW LIVE SHOW ATTRACTION "WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE - PLAY IT!"

ANAHEIM, CA, MAY 31, 2001 - A new live show attraction based on the hit ABC-TV game show "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" at the DISNEYLAND Resort is: a) Interactive, b) Intense, c) Family-friendly fun, or d) Opening at DISNEY'S CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE in late August 2001.

If all of the above is your final answer, then get ready for "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire - Play It!"

Beginning this summer, guests at the DISNEYLAND Resort's new theme park, DISNEY'S CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE, can experience a recreation of the energy and excitement of the popular "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" game show. Theme park guests will play for points, winning unique prizes along the way in a replica of the famous high-tech "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" set, complete with its dramatic lighting. Prizes will range from collectible pins, t-shirts and hats to a grand-prize trip to New York City to view a taping of the ABC-TV show.

The live show at DISNEY'S CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE, which is approximately 25 minutes in length, will run continuously throughout the day in a 600-plus-seat studio located in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot area of park. "Who Wants to be a Millionaire - Play It!" will also include Disney's FASTPASS¨, a computerized system that allows guests to reserve a time to experience the attraction. Disney's FASTPASS is offered at six additional locations throughout the park as well.

"We're thrilled to now be able to offer our guests the ability to experience the excitement of one of America's most popular game shows," noted Cynthia Harriss, president of the DISNEYLAND Resort. "This live attraction version of 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire - Play It!' fits in beautifully with the theme of Hollywood Pictures Backlot, where our guests become the stars. Guests will find out for themselves what it's like to sit in their own hot seat."

As on the television show, the "fastest finger" (the guest who can put a series of questions in correct chronological order the fastest) determines the first contestant to sit in the coveted hot seat. All audience members play along by using individual keypads as their scores are tallied throughout the session. Guests could also be asked to get involved in the game when players use the "ask the audience" or "phone a complete stranger" lifeline.

"We want to ensure that this attraction, 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire - Play It!' is as exciting and scintillating as the television program," said Gary Gascon, senior show producer for the DISNEYLAND Resort. "We are working closely with ABC to bring this unique and electrifying show to our guests."

Premiering as a regular ABC series in January 2000, "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" soared in popularity to become the most watched television series of the 1999-2000 season.

DISNEY'S CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE, which opened in February 2001, is located next door to DISNEYLAND¨ park in Anaheim, California. DISNEY'S CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE immerses guests into the fun and excitement of the Golden State in three distinct lands: Hollywood Pictures Backlot, Paradise Pier and the Golden State.
