Fantasyland was Walt's favorite part of Disneyland, it was the home of Mickey, Donald and friends. It was the land upon which he bestowed a great deal of personal attention, and some think it helped to make up for his frugal childhood. With Europe being the home of the fairy tale, Fantasyland is like part of the culture.

The same level of attention has been paid to each Fantasyland since. The effort is to build a land that truly seems to be part of the magical world of fantasy. The towering castle, the old world style of construction, everything is done to make you feel like you are in a world of make believe.

Many observers feel that due to the light nature of the construction that Paris comes closest to capturing the fairy tale fantasy image we all associate with the land.
