Adventure Isle - Part 1

Adventure Isle

One of the largest attractions in Adventureland at Disneyland Paris is the area called Adventure Isle.

Adventure Isle

Based on a similar concept to Tom Sawyer Island but without the boat crossing, it is a place to wander and to explore. The area actually consists of a number of attractions that include Captain Hooks Pirate Ship, Skull Rock and the Swiss Family Robinson Tree house. For Part one of this two part report, I will concentrate on the area around Spyglass Hill, Pirate’s Grotto and Skull Rock.

Adventure Isle

Situated in the centre of Adventureland and next to Pirates of the Caribbean, Adventure Isle and Skull Rock form an imposing sight.

Adventure Isle

Moored next to Skull Rock you find Captain Hooks Pirate ship and a children’s play area called Pirates Beach, this area is a recent addition to the park and give the kids somewhere to run wild.

Adventure Isle

Skull Rock is a great piece of Imagineering, made to look like it has been cut from solid rock, the face on the skull peers out across the Adventureland lagoon, water spilling through the teeth in it's open mouth.

Adventure Isle

Deep inside the skull visitors look out from the hollow eyes and mouth.
