Sleeping
Beauty’s Castle (continued)
(Le Chateau de la Belle au Bois Dormant)

The two stores
in the castle carry specialty items on the whole. The first is
the Christmas Shop and although it does carry stock with a holiday theme
it is not as good as similar stores in WDW or DL.

Across from the Christmas
Shop is another store that seems to focus on glassware and ‘mystical’
items. This is a great store to find unusual gifts, you can also watch a
master glassblower at work making gifts to be sold in the store. All
around the roof of this store you will find spooky stone carvings.

Another great
feature often missed by visitors is the changing stained glass window.
When you are in the gallery area of the castle, have a look high up in
the roof and you will see an oval window. If you stand and watch it for
a while you will see the picture on the window change from White Doves
to a Red Rose and then back again.
The other
walkthrough in the castle can be difficult to find if you don’t know
it exists. Deep below the castle inside the rocks and under the
waterfall you will fine the Dragons Lair (La Taniere du Dragon).

Here in a dark and damp cave
you will fine one of the most realistic animatronic creatures Disney has
ever created.

Be warned when the dragon
wakes up, as it can be quite scary for small children!

One of the
nicest things about the Disneyland Paris castle is how it changes
character at various time of day.

As you can see
we are very lucky to have such a great castle, with interesting
and beautiful walkthrough attractions. When you visit Disneyland Paris,
don’t forget to look for the Dragon.
