The Disneyland Hotel

The Disneyland Hotel

This is the flagship Hotel of Disneyland Paris. The Disneyland Hotel sits right over the entrance to the Magic Kingdom, a first for any Disney park. It represents the ultimate in Disney luxury from the 500 themed rooms though to the health spa and restaurants. It is designed to represent the turn of the century Victorian style and is the only hotel at the resort designed by Imagineers.

The Disneyland Hotel

The hotel was not part of the first plans for Disneyland Paris; originally a large covered area similar in style to the Hotel was planned making the ticket booths and turn styles more pleasant in bad weather. It is said that Michael Eisner saw the plans and asked for the cover to be converted in to a Hotel. The accountants did their sums and the Disneyland Hotel was born. As the Hotel forms such an integral part of the Magic Kingdom it was appropriate that the Imagineers working on Main Street should also work on the design of the Hotel.

Here you can see the area under the Hotel. There are 42 Ticket Booths located here, needless to say, I have never seen them all open. The turn styles for the park can also be found under the hotel. Detail and finish in this area is excellent, you can see the wonderful design on the following photographs.

As this is the first structure many visitors see when they arrive at the resort it is designed to set the scene for the enjoyment that lies beyond. As you approach the hotel though the Fantasia gardens...
