In May 2001, I had the pleasure of visiting Salon Mickey at
Disneyland Paris with a Euro Disney shareholder (Euro Disney being the
official company trading name). This small but very beautiful lounge was
originally opened as a welcome area for VIPs, but it was recently
converted to cater to visiting shareholders.
The lounge is located at the entrance to the park, right next door
to the re-entry turnstiles. It is very close to the entrance to the
Disneyland Hotel and the Annual Passport office. As you can see in the
photograph below, a simple canopy and the words "Salon Mickey"
mark the entrance. The lounge opens about an hour before the standard
park opening time, with breakfast served until noon.

Once you pass through the pink double doors, you enter a small
area where a cast member takes your shareholder card and park entry
ticket from you. The walls are decorated in wonderful wallpaper with a
very large and detailed border. The furniture, drapes, plants and
details are everything you would expect at the Paris park, and more.

Once you are greeted by the cast member, you are welcomed into the
main room, which is themed like a Victorian drawing room. In the centre
of the room is a black coffee table surrounded by comfy chairs and a
sofa. A splendid fireplace takes centre position on the main wall with
seating areas on either side.

Along the opposite wall to the fireplace is a small table used to
serve a selection of breakfast pastries. As you can see in the photos,
the room is filled with photographs and ornaments.

At the back of the room is the entrance to the rest room, a small
refrigerator, a hot drinks area, and most importantly for the kids in
your party, a TV set showing Disney movies.
