Christmas at Disneyland Paris by Ian Parkinson

The one thing you can always be sure of at Disneyland Paris is a wonderful Christmas. They really do pull out all the stops for the festive season, and this year is no exception.

Here is the full schedule of events for Christmas 2002, accompanied by photos from Mickey’s Winter Wonderland.

Christmas Season in Paris starts on Saturday, November 9, 2002 and continues until Sunday, January 5, 2003.

Shows and Parades

The Christmas Parade - Daily

To the tune of the famous "Nutcracker Suite" ballet, see Father Christmas and Disney characters in this holiday favorite.

Tree Lighting Ceremony - Daily at the Town Square, Main Street, U.S.A.

Father Christmas and the prince-magician for the day perform the ceremony of lighting the giant Disneyland Christmas tree.

Main Street Electrical Parade - Nightly

Disney characters in glimmering, shimmering lights.

Christmas Fireworks - Nightly

Explosive, festive fun above Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Christmas Carolers - Town Square, Main Street, U.S.A.

Right out of a Dickens tale, Victorian Christmas carolers perform renditions of favorite seasonal songs.

Meet and Greet with Beauty and the Beast Characters

Join Belle and friends for singing, dancing, and autograph sessions in Belle's Christmas Village.

Meet and Greet with "Santa" Goofy" - Castle Stage, Fantasyland

Goofy just being himself and trying to make children's Christmas wishes come true.

Mickey's Winter Wonderland - Chaparral Theatre, Frontierland

Mickey, Minnie and their friends have found the ideal place for happy winter holidays. There's skating and lots of fun in the snow.

Le Noel de Mickey Show - Fantasy Festival Stage, Fantasyland

Mickey and his friends invite everyone, young and old, to a Christmas in his home full of magic and surprises.

Musical Dinner Shows

Look through the eyes of a child, enjoy the magical scenes, and prepare yourself for a journey into a wonderful world of light, spectacular decorations, and fabulous shows!

The Magical World of Tinker Bell - Disney’s Newport Bay Hotel

All aboard the luxury cruise ship, the HMS Newport. You're invited to be a guest on a magical tour around the world! Put on your cha cha heels and join Tinker Bell, Mickey, Minnie, and your favorite Disney friends in an all-singing, all-dancing tribute to African rhythms, Irish jigs, South American samba, and Russian folk dancing.

Disney Character Christmas – Disney’s Hotel New York

Both young and old will enjoy an enchanting evening with the Disney characters.

Time Square Dinner Party – Disney’s Hotel New York

The evening will be lead by a disc jockey who will keep you dancing until the early hours of the New Year. Disney characters will be there, too!

Dinner Dance at the Pavilion - Discoveryland

Enjoy a buffet of appetizers, main dishes, cheese, and desserts with wine included, then dance in the New Year to the sound of an orchestra before enjoying the fireworks in the park.

The Enchanted Christmas Ball - Main Street, U.S.A., Discoveryland & Fantasyland

For one night only on Monday, December 2, Disneyland becomes the home of a holiday party that celebrates the joy of the Christmas. Join Beauty and the Beast for an evening of special entertainment.

The night commences with a procession, featuring Disney prince and princess couples in horse-drawn carriages on Main Street. In Fantasyland, medieval jokers bringing fun and laughter. A Christmas Ball takes place in Videopolis, Discoveryland.

As you can see, it’s a busy time at Disneyland Paris over the Christmas period. But don’t forget to wrap up warm because here in Disneyland Paris, the snow on Main Street can be real.
