Splash Mountain One of the Disneyland Mountains, this is one of the most unique. Unlike most other mountainous roller coaster style rides, this one carries guests on a water borne journey through the epic Song of the South. You travel through backwoods swamps, along quiet bayous and over a series of mini waterfalls. Finally, you plunge down a very steep looking spillway, which is guaranteed to get you wet, if not soaked. (a fall of 50+ feet at an angle of 45 degrees) The detailed interior of this ride presents over 100 audio-animatronic figures, a paddlewheel steamer, a host of briar patch homes and some of the catchiest music ever written. Perfect for a zip-a-dee-doo-dah day. Beaver Canoes These canoes take you on a half mile long exploration of the Rivers of America, with guests providing the steam in the form of paddles and oars. It's an often pretty ride, but be ready to work for it. The ride is usually closed down during the winter months, but is normally opened again by March or April. |
