Part Fifteen: Oceano Restaurant
The close-up below from the above shot shows
the wonderfully creative embedded detail in it, suggesting sealife - but
not showing it exactly. The colors are really vivid.

To the left of the above area is the main
dining room - note the seashell inspired seating complete with
"floating lighting," and the boat inspired wood roof. Only the
Mickey Mouse shaped cutouts in the high chairs show you are in a Disney
restaurant.

In the above shot - you see a cutout in the
wall letting you peek into an adjoining room - the photo below is the
view back out from it into the above room.

As you step back, you notice the unique wall
treatment - and overall color of the room...

Turning around and looking up you see what
appears to be a giant iridescent pearl - and with that you now
understand why this private area is christened the Pearl Room.

Stepping back a bit you can see the walls
are painted like the inside of an oyster - and the glass rods protruding
in the openings help reinforce that illusion even more.

As we step up to the window across the room,
it looks like there is a bar...

Again metalwork from floor to ceiling in
that next room suggests underwater organic forms.

Wonderful detailing isn't it?
Well, that concludes our photo tour of the
new additions to the Tokyo Disney Resort. Again our special thanks go to
Todd Meigan for taking all those wonderful photos, and Lani Teshima for
procuring and organizing them. It took us 39 pages and over 265 photos
to show you the wonderful detail in this new complex. (And
yes, we hear you! There will be desktops available soon, Todd was kind
enough to allow use of his photos.)
Thank you for joining us on the adventure!
