Featured Attraction

This week, we look at Living with the Land at Epcot.

Mark gave a quick history of the attraction and talked about the change to the name and music as well as the removal of the live spieling. Mike talked about the rooms in the greenhouse that the ride goes through.

Much of the produce grown in the greenhouse is served at the park.

A closer look is available by taking the Behind the Seeds walking tour.

Review System Spotlight

This week we take a look at Disney's Old Key West Resort. MousePlanet readers love the restaurant, rating it 4.1 out of five planets. Our featured review this week is by BrandonHRich of Nashville, Tennessee.

BrandonHRich and his party were unaware before arriving at the resort that most buildings do not have elevators, and the beds were in need of replacement (Mark believes that the replacement of all beds is scheduled for this year), leading to him giving it a 2-planet rating.

Mike likes Old Key West. Mark loves Old Key West; it's his favorite DVC resort. The resort has the largest rooms of any DVC resort, yet the point costs are the lowest.

You can also find Disney's Old Key West Resort in our Park Guide.

Magical Moment

Joey in Tucson called in to tell us about his first Bluetini experience, at Disney's California Adventure with family at Ariel's Grotto. For him, one of the best parts of the drink was the glow cube. He sent along a photo of himself with the drink. He said that it was a great conversation starter.

Joey enjoyed his Bluetini, and especially enjoyed the glow cube. Photo courtesy of Joey in Tucson. The original Bluetini photo of Mike. Photo by Mark Goldhaber.

Last Week on MousePlanet

Steven Ng, filling in for Andrew Rich down at MousePlanet Global Headquarters recapped what you may have missed on the MousePlanet site last week if you're not visiting regularly.

Listener Feedback

Karen wrote in to say that she enjoyed our Extreme Makeover: Attraction Edition show where we redesigned the Imagination pavilion. She offered up her own ideas on remaking the attraction.

Big Brian Martsolf called the toll-free feedback line to ask why, in our show about fun after the parks close, we didn't include some specific entertainment at the resorts, such as Yehaa Bob at the River Roost Lounge at the Port Orleans Riverside Resort and the jazz orchestra at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa (where the pianist in the lobby plays between sets). The orchestra performs at the bandstand in front of Mizner's Lounge. Brian recommends the counter service location at the Grand Floridian as a place to grab a bite while listening to the orchestra.

John from Tennessee wrote in to throw out an idea for a future feature show. He suggested that we talk about why we could or could not wait to go to Walt Disney World. We'll put it into the idea bag.

Vance Cope called the toll-free feedback line to tell us about the Tweetup/Meetup hosted by Southwest Airlines and Disney. It sounds like a great little event and something to check out if they do it again.

Stuart Sternberg tweeted another one of his Believe It Or Nots: "Representing US bobsled team is MouseStation's very own Mark & Mike. Guys please remember keep your eyes closed and pray!"

Jason Bielski wrote in to ask about a quick list of "required" Disney reading. Mark thinks that there's so much available that the list changes based on your interests. The list generated by our readers can be found in the show notes here. Mark also listed a number of other books that he enjoys.

Paul from Holland Michigan wrote in to say that he enjoyed the Extreme Makeover: Attraction Edition show and offered his own take. He also noted that he and his wife are big fans of Phineas and Ferb and suggested Stitch's Great Escape for our next makeover.
